Let say the target computer's IP is 198.168.0.3 and its OS is of course WinXP. The Remote Destop help session manager is starting. My DLink-704 router has a virtual server set to 198.168.0.3 and service port is 6000. |

that said, I'm firmly confused on all levels w/ regard to the description of your problem. 1. click start-> run -> sysdm.cpl click on the remote tab... is remote desktop checked? If not... CHECK THE BOX! 2. are you trying to connect to your XP box locally (e.g. within the confines of your local network, or are you trying to accomplish this task remotely over the Internet?) 3. do either one of the machines have a firewall installed? if the host machine is blocking the inbout request... fix it.. if the client machine is blocking the outbound request... fix it.... check the points I mentioned and provide some more feedback. |
