The "D" partition on the disk has lot's of extra space. I noticed that MS Office takes up about 338 MB on C. Is it possible to de-install MS Office from C & reinstall it onto D? I know that the default place for programs under Windows is C:\Program Files but can something be elsewhere & work just as well? Or, better yet, can I just "move" MS Office over to "D" without the de-install / re-install? Or, is there a way to "re-partition" without loosing any data? Can I increase the size of "C" & decrease "D" correspondingly without risking loosing files? |

Yes, you can uninstall Office and then reinstall it, just go to >control panel >add & remove programs, locate MS Office version you are using and remove it, then put the cd in and reinstall it, when it comes to the point of asking where to put it, just change the default location to D drive and wherever you want to put it there, like : D\program files\MS Office. This is your easiest solution, but still doesn't leave you with a lot of space on your cd drive. > I know that the default place for programs under Windows is C:\Program > Files but can something be elsewhere & work just as well? > > Or, better yet, can I just "move" MS Office over to "D" without the > de-install / re-install? No, you cannot move it to D drive, this won't work. Unless you get some sort of 3rd party application mover. No suggestions there. > > Or, is there a way to "re-partition" without loosing any data? It allows you to manipulate all the partitions, create new ones, and resize old ones. |
