Question: Hi, I have a work station with win xp pro. I have been testing imaging software. Tested Acronis workstation v.10, then uninstalled it. Installed Symantec Backup Exec. System Recovery V.6.5 to test it. It would crash the os. Symantec support said a leftover driver from Acronis was the problem. The driver was “ Snapman.sys “. Found a forum post on Wilders security forum from an Acronis Monitor that had step by step directions for a full manual uninstall of Acronis software. Did that. Now Symantec BESR works, but, the Symantec interface does NOT see the C:\ drive. If you look in computer management / Disk Management the Disk 0 does not have a volume letter. It is blank next to the little computer icon. It should show (C:\) . The drive shows up in the Symantec interface as (*:\ ) . As a result of this Backup Exec. will only do full backups. It will not do incremental backups. How do I get the drive letter back in Disk Management? I have uninstalled and reinstalled Backup Exec 2 times and it makes no differents. I could just slit my wrists and be done with it.

Does anyone have an answer??
