Question: I need to disable media player 10 for all users in my PC(my kids) except for my user.
My pc runs windows xp pro sp2.
Obviously only one user runs at a time.

You might try booting into safe mode - login as the Administrator.
I know you said it's Pro - but that might work.

For the above method though - cacls should also be able to do it - yet, the /e should be used as well (edit, instead of replace)

Cacls "C:\program Files\windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe" /e /g YourAccount:F
Cacls "C:\program Files\windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe" /e /D Child1
Cacls "C:\program Files\windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe" /e /D Child2
