my microphone dont work in soundrecored or msn and it work if i unmute it from the vo

its strange but my microphone dont work in soundrecord or msn or anyother chat application or recorder,
but the microphone works! when i uncheck the mute microphone checkbox in the volume control, and when i say something i hear my self in the speakers.

i reinstalled my sound driver twice, but still the same, i think its a small thing that i need to do, just an option or something

NO, please read the description next to the checkboxes. They are NOT MUTE. They are "Select". You can only ever have ONE input device selected for recording. The checkbox for Mic MUST be checked, and the volume turned right up. Analogue to S/PDIF shouldnt make a difference, try it and see what happens
