HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current blah blah\ProfileList ... and it changed the new domain profile key to point to the same folderr that the local profile key uses (I've done this plenty of times with no problems). When he logs onto the domain profile it's working great. But now when he tried to go back and log in locally it's telling us that it can't load the profile upon logon and that it's going to load some temporary profile. Does anyone know how I can resolve this error message? Thanks. |

If they need to log into the machine when off the network, just log into the domain account by selecting the OPTIONS button on the login screen and selecting the domain, if it not already selected. XP will use cached credentials to log the user in and present them with the full desktop, the same as when they are connected to the network, minus any mapped drives. Is there a particular reason you are trying to point a local account to the same profile directory as the network logon? |
