Sound Icon missing in system tray

I have got a Dell D620 and have had it for about a week now. The sound icon in the system tray was there for like two days and now its disappeared. I have updated the drivers,googled the problem, checked all settings etc yet it is still missing. Is there any other suggestions you guys have or should i reinstall the os.

I am running Windows Xp Pro version 2002 service pack 2

Yeah, never mind about that. Systray Icons Missing will most likely work. I had a very similar problem.
