I have a niggling issue that I was hoping there was a work around / fix.
We have a number of off-shore developers (in India) that access their XP workstations via the MSTSC executable (their workstations are located in australia). The issue is this:
They want to be able to 'share' desktops between 2 of the workstations, so one can actually 'see' what the other is doing - but have no mouse control etc. They are trying this by using Netmeeting's remote desktop sharing feature.
So a developer logs in to their workstation (via MSTSC), opens netmeeting, establishes a 'call' to the second workstation (without an issue) but the Tools > Remote Destop Sharing option is greyed out, and so is the "Share Program" icon down the bottom of the netmeeting window.
However if I log onto the PC's directly (as an admin or as a regular user), these options are available and I can share the desktop without issues. There is no GPO or local security policy blocking this functionality.
The only this I can think of is that there is a problem when trying to invoke remote desktop sharing when the user is already connected to it via MSTSC. This seems to be the only difference between them logging on on (and it NOT working) and me logging on (and it working OK).
