Looking for a list of directories safe to delete. To speed up antispyware and virus r

I have quite a few machines that have spyware/virus infestations. First I take the hard drive out of the machine and place the drive into a spyware & virus scanning machine, scan and clean the whole drive with 3 - 4 different programs. (this way the hard drive is not booted)

My question is, to speed this process up, what directories can I safely delete the contents of before I even get started? (like clearing the IE cache and so forth)
(or is there a program like ccleaner that will work on a non-booted drive?)

Most machines are XP home with some XP pro.

The ones I would safely delete are:
C:\documents and settings\%username%\local settings\temp
C:\documents and settings\%username%\local settings\temporary internet files

There are others are probably safe to delete, but removing the two above should help your scan times a lot.
