Question: I have about 25 User XP Pro Licenses. Now one of the computer that was using that and was part of the Network got crashed and we had to install new Hardrive. Now I'm not sure which Licence key it was using for XP. I tried putting all the CDs in but it wont run through. It does not even go to a point where it ask for Serial Key. It would start and then when I select "Install XP" it would just say use diffrent CD. Could it be locked because the license might be already in use? I still have its Computer Name and User name present on my server. Should I delete the username and computer name and try using the CDs again. I am not sure what to do

Are they client access licenses (CALs)? CALs work with allowing connections to a Windows/Active Directory domain, they do not cover licensing the actual operating system.

The most common license is an OEM license that is noted as a holigraphic sticker on your computer with a product-key.
There is the retail license that you purchase when you buy Windows off of the shelf at CompUSA or BestBuy.
Microsoft sells volume licenses to business that need to purchase and customize large numbers of Windows XP computers.

I would gues that your computers came with their copy of Windows preinstalled, so the license would be an OEM license.
It would be best to use the original install media, or restore disk that came with the PC to reinstall Windows.
