Question: Trouble shooting an XP pro system. When using search, the system finds several hundred tmp files in c:\windows\system32\dllcache. most of them are of the format old###.tmp, where ### are numerics.

Can these all be deleted. I have not seen this particular clustering of tmp files before, so not sure if these meet the general rule of "if more than a week old, delete them".

i would recommend that you use sfc command to manage the dllcache folder.
if you use sfc/? you will get all the parameters to set the dllcache folder
you can delete the dllcache folder with recommended method.
