Remote Desktop & Loading Apps

I have Windows XP Pro installed and have activated Remote Desktop. Im able to connect to my desktop using my admin name and password. Befor eleaving the house i usually have the PC on and already logged in with the very same admin account so when i log in via Remote Desktop, i am logging in for a second time rather than re-using the same instance. No prob.

Im wondeirng if it is possible to actually launch an application in the other instance (the other admin that is logged in) from the current remote desktop instance? For example using remote desktop i would like to launch Trillian not in my current session but the other admin session that was originally logged into when i was at home.

This may not be ideal but you can connect to the original logged in session via Remote Desktop.

You can do this by launching the Remote Desktop Connection executable with the /console switch:

mstsc /console

Alternatively you can connect to the other "Administrator" session via the Terminal Services Manager snap-in after logging in the second time. Start --> Run --> tsadmin
