I recently isntalled Vista on my NVRAID 0 array, along with my XP install. After Vista was installed, I lost the ability to boot to XP. One of my other questions on EE was how to get the XP install back. I used VISTABOTPRO, but it didnt seem to help. In the end, I decided to boot t the recovery console and used fixmbr and fixboot (I used the Windws XP partition as the target). I also copied over ntldr and ntdetect.com just to be safe. I now cannot boot to either Vista or XP! I get "a disk read error has occurred" whatever OS I chose to boot from. I decided to reinstall Vista t see if that would solve it, but it hasnt made any difference. I know the array is god as it appears as healthy in the diagnstics, and I can still boot to the partitions frm the recvery console.
It apears that I have totally screwed the boot records, and the things that I usually use t fix them dont seem to work.
Any ideas?
