How can I get my games to run without color screwing up?

I cannot figure this out and it's driving me nuts.Right now I have Win 2000 and Vista installed on my system(Athlon TBird at 1400mhz,1 gig of ram,Nvidia GForce FX5500,Asus A7V133)and my games run perfect.But whenever I install XP with all updates,and latest drivers,and start a game,within minutes or even seconds,the color goes all different shades and angles,or the game crashes,or the system reboots.I can't even restart the game again without rebooting.As I said this ONLY happens on XP-SP2.Can anyone help?

video card driver your getting sounds faulty check to see if you can find a different one than the one you are downloading for it.
