Hello, 2 weeks ago I ran into an issue where my Windows XP Pro Service pack 2 would freezes on the boot screen (the XP logo screen) and the blue loading progress bar would freeze. Since my image was quit old back then, I reformatted my entire hard-drive, re-installed XP, applied all the latest Microsoft security patches etc… everything was working perfectly again. But just this morning, I ran into the same problem again, where XP would freeze on boot screen and the blue loading progress bar would freeze. This time, my image was fairly new – I didn’t even have a chance to install any of the applications yet since after my last reformat. No advanced/technical settings such as network, sound/video settings were changed since my previous successful boot; (Last night it booted perfectly, went online to read some CNN and used MS Word, turned off computer. This morning, it would not boot anymore.)
I’m quit stumped on this, and I can’t imagine this is a hardware issue because if I reformat my computer, the issue would disappear. I would only assume there was a configuration change…. But cannot determine what it is. I would really love to determine cause of this issue and solve it rather than conducting another re-image. Thank you.
