Question: I have a Windows XP SP2 machince that is losing time. I read many of the FAQ's listed, but they were for older machines. I went to the DOS prompt and checked the time. It is the same time as what shows on the task bar. I have reset the time twice today, and it continues to lose time. It is on a domain, but this is the only machine that is not pick up its time from the server. It is running Symantec Antivirus.
Is the CMOS battery most likely the culprit, or is there something else I should be looking at?
