Question: This is most likely a minor issue, but admittedly I am resistant to change in the way that I use my PC. Recently, I navigated to "My Computer" in the WinXP Pro MCE 2005 operating system. I "clicked" on the C:\ drive hdd icon, and it launches the "Search" utility!? I have 3 hdd's in my system, and each one that I select does the same thing? This has never happened before, typically selecting a hdd would open to view programs installed on that drive. I may have changed a setting of some sort, but I am unfamiliar with how to change it back. If anyone has a solution, please be so kind as to walk me through it. Thanks.

You should read the article for an explanation of the problem, but the corrective action to take is this:

Click the Start button, then type REGEDIT in the Run dialog box off the Start Menu and click OK. Now navigate in the left pane to these two keys and click on the shell subkey:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Drive\shell

In each, double-click the (Default) value on the right hand pane and type the word:

none

Then close the Registry Editor.
