(This may be a seperate issue, but recently all of the power settings had seemed to change and the screen would turn off after a minute. I chaged the default power setting from battery miser to optimum performance and that seemed to resolve the problem, but I'm not sure how the settings got changed in the first place.) Since my laptop is in the shop my wife thinks I'm not trustworthy with computers. I could use some help here - or else I'll be sleeping in the car. |

My Gateway won't wake up unless I hit the power button, briefly. This too would be worth a try. The last post in this forum points to the same problem you are having, was caused by updating to SP2, and was solved by updating his video driver. You might read it: Standy or Hibernation when closing lid on powered on laptop? - TechSpot Troubleshooting I hope some of this helps, hate to see ya have to sleep in the car... especially if it's as cold there as it is here tonite. |
