In BIOS my pc sees both the drives as old, original drive as master location 0(0) & new drive as slave. 1(1) However when i boot up the drive is unallocated & not initalized in Windows XP HOME Drive Computer Management. I cannot use the Windows XP Home Computer Management program from control panel I cannot partition the new drive it is not highlighted. I have my original XP HOME Operating disk but it has SP1A & I am on SP2 so i cannot get into setup from the xp disk wont accept setup? I want to make the new drive with 2 partitions- SPLIT 40GB + 40GB as logical drives with a new drive letters e.g G drive & H drive in My Computer on C drive, how do I do this? I have used Partition magic 8.0 in the past but i had config. problems with it. I cannot use FDISK on XP home i tried diskpart but none of the functions did anything? Please advise what utility can i use to get to the slave 1(1) new 80GB drive partition it into 2 logical drives in My Computer in my system C drive? |
