"Unmountable Boot Volume" After doing some research, I have found that it may be the Boot.ini file has become corrupted. I have seen some suggestions that tell you to boot to the Windows recovery console, and use the chkdsk /p command. Our issue is this... My friend does not have his Windows Media Center Disk, as he bought the laptop used. Our question is this... Can Windows XP Setup discs be used to boot his Windows Media Center PC to the Recovery Console? If not, is there another way that the Boot.ini file can be repaired? |

> PC to the Recovery Console? Yes, you can use the xp cd's to boot into recovery console. I would also recommend if fixing boot.ini does or does not solve the problem, that you back up the data, and then run diagnostics on the hard |
