I have been asked by our project manager to determine EXACTLY how much bandwidth we need for an upcoming field project as it is in Mexico, and ISP prices in that area are very high. Can anyone recommend the best way (software or built into xp) to find out the high, low, and average bandwidth a computer uses? I was thinking there might be a software you can start and let run in the background, and at the end of the day, look at the avg amount of data flowing is. This way we can pick a plan that best suits us without paying for more than we need. The computer in questions gets placed in a location with an ISP connection running VPN. We then control and monitor that computer over the network via VNC, Active Directory, Remote Desktop, and a few other tools. We currently have the machine on inside our Guest Network and are ready to test its bandwidth sucking abilities ![]() |
