My Windows XP2 won't boot.

If I let it boot normally, it gets to the Windows splash screen and then begins to load but never completes.

From time to time, it will recycle, shut down and restart and do the same thing over.

If I click on safemode, it begins to load but appears to get stuck at:

multidisk.......system32\drivers\mup.sys

I had been doing some work and deleted a partition on my hard drive that stored my data.

My C: drive, which contained windows and other programs was left undisturbed.

However, I have been unable to boot since then.

Do you have the Windows XP setup CD? you can do a quick repair from the CD. I think my friend had a similar problem and the quick repair might have fixed the problem if I backed up the activation file. Copy c:\windows\system32\wpa.dbl to c:\windows\system32\wpa.dbl.bak and the quick repair just in case. I think the instructions are at How to Perform a Windows XP Repair Install but you could figure it out once you put in the CD and boot up or computer.
