disk is full or write protected problem

we have a windows XP Pro workstation connected to a windows 2000 sbs. Occasionally when we try to save an excel file to a users folder on the server, we get the error Warning! The disk is full or write protected. Save your document to another disk.

The server is not full, and there are no quota limits on the users folders.

The problem does not arise all of the time, but enough to be annoying. I have tried coppying files to a test folder, without problem. It only seems to be when saving excel documents.

Any ideas?

The GPO Path is:
User Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> System -> User Profiles -> Limit profile size

You can use RSOP (On server : Start -> Run -> Type "rsop.msc"), select the user and the computer that is affected, then look at the report generated.
