occured after I tried to do some Windows cleanup. Specifically, was deleting tmp files from the "C" directories. Your help is appreciated. __________________ My WinXP Pro startup routine comes to grief and keeps on repeating a message saying that the Windows Installer can't find the "Scan" file (suggesting that it might be in a folder named "1"). My only option is to use the Windows Task Manager to end the program and complete startup. I have tried to look up a solution via the MS Knowledge Base and via Google, but to no avail. Apparently the Windows Installer is looking for a file named "Scan.msi" to reinstall a program called "Scan". Could be the disk checker (ScanDisk), but that program is already there because I can run it manually. At first I gave it the WinXP Pro Installation CD, but after searching the CD I have come to the conclusion that it does not contain a file named "Scan.msi". In desparation I reinstalled WinXP but that didn't fix it either. Can anyone tell me how I can overcome this problem, or more specifically where I can find a copy of "Scan.msi"? |

O4 - Global Startup: HP Digital Imaging Monitor.lnk = C:\Program Files\HP\Digital Imaging\bin\hpqtra08.exe You can choose to disable it from MSCONFIG's startup tab. Just deselect it and run without it for a while... |
