can you transfer an outlook 2003 pst file to windows mail on vista?

Question: Hi there

Just purchased a new computer with Vista on board (and Windows Mail). I would like to transfer my old Outlook pst file over (via a USB stick) and just replace the pst file on the new computer. Is this possible, and easy. Are Outlook on an XP machine and Windows Mail on a Vista machine compatible?

In your old computer, import the Outlook emails into Outlook Epxress (OE). In OE, go to File > Import > Messages > Microsoft Outlook > Next > <account name>

Then copy the OE store folder to new computer. OE store folder location can be found in OE by going to Tools > Options > Maintenance > Store Folder location

Then you can import the OE files into Windows Mail in new computer.
