If I open a windows explorer window and say go to my documents and open my pictures and open a folder with pictures, and I click on a picture, instead of high lighting that picture, I'm taken back to the prior screen before I opened folder. The client has change mice, move from ps2 mice to usb mice. We tried wiindows restore to a point prior to problem starting. We tried repair reinstall of windows xp. We removed and reinstalled mouse driver. If I connect to her computer over the internet say with logmein, the problem doesn't exist. solution You may have to download the actual SP2 executable file (huge 200+ MB) to your hard drive and execute it from there. We've had several computers that would not run the full install over the Internet. |

I cleaned all the spyware, reinstalled the mouse drivers, nothing would fix it. If I log on as another user doubleclicking works. The only fix that I found that would work is to create another user. Then I decided to edit the mouse registry settings. Using regedit I simply noted all the mouse settings for a user that worked. Then edited the registry of the user that had the problem and and made all the settings match. My Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Mouse. ouila - it works! BTW - regedit can be dangerous. Backup your registry before making any changes. Outsourcing with CoastMS |
