Question
When booting up, during the log on screen, I get the following error message;

svchost.exe- Application Error

The instruction at"0x7c918fea" refferenced memory at "0x00000010". The memory could not be "written".

Click on OK to terminate the program.

Click on cancel to debug.


Have cleared off all malware I could locate. This appears to be something that numerous people have run into, by all the links I found through google. But, none of them ever find an answer. Any help would be appreciated.

figured it out, a few services were failing to startup, i think netlogon was causing it. And since the computer was not a member of a domain, i changed it startup type from auto to manual. I also changed a couple of others that were failing, but i don't think they were the culprit. Anyway, it is working now. Nobody was really close.
