I just gave a registry cleaner, RegScrubXP, a try and it cleaned about 100 or so "errors". It then freezes while trying to "fix" one called NsMdt.exe and says "app id is missing for this key". I'm quite sure I've traced the file back to my Norton Internet Security, but was wondering if anyone knows how to "fix" this error? Soln There seems to be conflicts with NsMdt.exe and RegScrub and has become a common issue: http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=106610 As you can see on the MajorGeeks forums. If you do NOT use Norton Internet Security and its picking up a file from a while back you can use Norton's removal tool and run the registry cleaner again http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT...05033108162039 However, if you are using NIS, and want to run a registry cleaning tool I would recommend: CCleaner - free PC Tune Up Utilities |
