This is very strange. I am using the CSCCMD tool to extract a users offline files due to a change of server etc.. The user is called fred & the old server was called kheserver. Fred had made multiple directories within his "My Documents" folder to arrange his work in a proper way. Now when i run the following command: csccmd /EXTRACT:\\kheserver\users\fred /TARGET:c:\fred This works fine but will only extract what is in the root "My Documents" folder. Nothing in the sub-directories will be extracted. Next I ran the command on a sub-directory as follows: csccmd /EXTRACT:\\kheserver\users\fred\Management /TARGET:c:\fred This worked fine as well. The problem starts when i try to extract files from a directory whose name is more than one word for eg "Technical issues" So if i typed the following command: csccmd /EXTRACT:\\kheserver\users\fred\Technical Issues /TARGET:c:\fred I get the following error: Unregognized option "Issues" System Error 87 This happens for any directory whose name is more than i word long. Can anyone help with this?? Slution I would think you could just use the 8.3 format for each folder, such as this: csccmd /EXTRACT:\\kheserver\users\fred\Techni~1\BRCAud~1 /TARGET:c:\fred Note that the "BRC Audit 2004" folder has been shortened so that there is no space between BRC and Aud. I note this is true on my computer when I do a Change Directory to \Progra~1 (which is shortened form of Program Files) and I do a DIR /X of the subfolders, and the long name Zone Labs is shortened to ZoneLa~1. |
