On a PC running Windows XP, I am unable to open IE more than once. For example, the home page is google. I open IE up and it goes to google. I then click on a link and go to reuters. If I then click the IE shortcut in the start menu, reuters is replaced by google in the one IE window already open. Any idea what is causing this? I know that IE 7 has the multiple tabs feature and that would resolve this but I want to be sure there is nothing wrong with IE or Windows currently. Thank you. Solution It could be one of those toolbars you have there that might have caused it. You have Viewpoint, yahoo, Norton, so try turning off each of them to see which one cause it. I would suggest uninstalling Viewpoint first, it's considered foistware. Please fix these entries, close all browsers and other windows when you click "Fix Checked": O2 - BHO: Viewpoint Toolbar BHO - {A7327C09-B521-4EDB-8509-7D2660C9EC98} - C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Viewpoint Toolbar V35\ViewBarBHO.dll O3 - Toolbar: Viewpoint Toolbar - {F8AD5AA5-D966-4667-9DAF-2561D68B2012} - C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Viewpoint Toolbar V35\ViewBar.dll O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AlcxMonitor] ALCXMNTR.EXE O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ViewMgr] C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Viewpoint Manager\ViewMgr.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ViewpointPhotosDeviceConnect] C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Viewpoint Toolbar V35\FotomatDeviceConnect.exe O8 - Extra context menu item: &Viewpoint Search - res://C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Viewpoint Toolbar V35\ViewBar.dll/CXTSEARCH.HTML |
