Question
I was messing with the Windows XP Private Character Editor and I hastily created a few characters just to see how it all worked.
I am aware of how to create a character, how to link it to all or specific fonts, how to remove a private character, and how to show it in the Character Map to copy and paste it into another application, but I can't find details anywhere about where and how these private characters are saved.
Can someone tell me this please, because Microsoft don't seem to have the answer in any of the pages I found while searching.
Solution
Cut and Paste those EUDC.EUF and UEDC.TTE out of that Fonts folder to a different folder and see if you can still access your Character. I'm betting not. I believe those are what you are looking for. For a test, after moving them, why not create another new character and keep an eye on the number so fonts in that folder.
How many special characters have you made?
