I've added a 60GB HDD (with XP installed on it) as a slave to my XP machine. I wish to format it, as to remove all files and the OS installation... By right-clicking the drive and selecting "Format..." etc, I get the following message: "Windows cannot format this drive. Quit any disk utilities or other programs that are using this drive, and make sure that no window is displaying contents of the drive. Then try formatting again." But I don't think that there are any programs using the drive... How can I format it? solution Hi InteractiveMind, Right click on my computer select manage under storage select disk management right click on the partition that you want to format select delete partition Then recreate a partition and format it |
