I did an unattended DVD of XP Home SP2 and Office 2003 with all the updates, software install eg AVG, antispyware, .net 1.1 / 2 and a couple of other things - oh and a few reg tweaks to enhance windows (nothing too disasstrous) which ultimately works and only requires the user to enter COA codes for both.
However this has been installed on 3 machines of varying spec and with them all, svchost.exe goes mental at windows start, maxing the cpu but I can't seem to find the root cause ie going on the internet etc etc / windows updates turned on etc etc
What it does do if you leave it to run is change the toolbar etcto a reduced performance state for a few seconds and then goes back to how it should, also if you close the svchost.exe in taskman and log out / back in - it behaves as normal. It also causes freeze ups on a brand new Centrino Duo 1Gig RAM as it can max one side of the cpu.
I've done virus / adware / spyware checks - no infections including on the created DVD iso.
