Typically XP displays files and folders with encryption or compression with a unique font color. Although this can be helpful, many users find it ugly. Here is how to disable it. 1. Open explorer through some method. (Clicking the My Computer icon, for example.) 2. Click the Tools menu 3. Click Folder Options 4. Select the View tab 5. Uncheck the Show encrypted or compressed NTFS files in color 6. Click OK ![]() |
