Default Dialup - network security

Not sure if this is the right category for this or not..

We have many XP laptops with AirCards (modems)..
Our users have started connecting with the AirCards while they are still connected to our company network...
We do not like this..

I would like a way for the local ethernet to disable when the air card connects..
and the local ethernet to enable when the air card disconnects..

I've looked at DEVCON, TOGGLENIC, NETSH, and some vbsScripts..
But they all seem like the user would have to execute a script file to disable/enable the network adaptor..
I need something automatic so the user doesn't have a choice..

Soln
You could create two hardware profiles (right click on My Computer, select properties, click on the Hardware tab, select the hardware profiles button near the bottom to configure):

1) where the onboard NIC is enabled and the aircard is disabled and
2) where the Aircard is enables and the onboard NIC is disabled.

Then set the Hardware profile selection to wait until the users selects the hardware profile that they want to use on Windows boot. This will get the desired result but the users will be unable to change their NIC without rebooting the computer and if the users have Administrator privileges they'd be able to enable the NIC that is disabled.
