Ok I need help.... I'm sure everyone knows by now Microsoft has pushed out this validation download. I'm an IT tech over here in Iraq and one of our laptops looks like it has a bootleg copy of windows on it. Who knows how it got there since I have around 40 IBM laptops and all came with XP PRO loaded.

I looked online on how to bring up the screen to cange the keycode but it didn't work. So i bought online for 10 bucks someone's GUI script. It shows me whats in there and then brings up the same sceen I was tring to use and says reset but it really didn't.

Ok so I start looking at all of the spare laptops I have around 6 and get this they all have the same freaken keycode programed in them but at the same time on the bottom is a Microsoft tag for windows xp pro with a different keycode. So I'm assuming that IBM just loaded one keycode on their production build but puts the sticker on the bottom so you know it was bought.

So anyway I tried both keycodes and no good. I went out and picked up some keycodes on the net and get this. When using this GUI script if I put the bootleg keycode the script right away changes it not going to the window where you say use the telephone and then the next screen allows you to imput a keycode.

I then went online to Microsoft and try to do the update check where it also validates your windows and of course it doesnt like the keycode. So any suggestions on how to get the keycode that all my IBM's have or even put the one thats on the bottom of laptop.

This laptop still works just anoying with the popup. Also it's our powerpro's laptop andthey have one piece of software for their generators that is tied to this laptop sent an email to Catapllier to see what it takes to remore that license to a new machine so I can look into just blowing windows away but I have the feeling if I reinstall Windows that it won't take either of the keycodes I have that is tied to this laptop.
