Windows XP Home. Was away from the machine for a while, so not sure who played with it or what they did. Every boot it asks me to activate. I activated it with no problem over the Internet at first, but after a while that stopped working and I had to call in each time. That would also work every time, but at each boot I had to do it again.

Did a repair install, same thing. Reset the OOBE timer in the registry with no change. Deleted the WPA.DBL and .BAK files just to see - no change.

I saw a previous thread where someone had a similar issue and they were told to call MS, but nothing was said about how to get in touch with them - the actication number is all I see when this problem comes up and I already tried talking to the people there - they said to take it to a shop.
