Anyway. Desktop machine started rebooting, seemingly no pattern. Eventually I tracked it down to UPD requests (via Symantec Firewall), from many different IP addys. In general, blocking the request permanently led to reboots, and permitting the request led to reboots, with Windows errors generated every time.
