I am using my own MMS email address (number@mms.mycingular.com) to push to my phone information that I might need when I am on the move.

This is very convenient but unfortunately doesn't work very well because that service is in my experience extremely unreliable: maybe half of the emails I sent make their way to my phone. Note that this success rate varies greatly. It doesn't look like source of the email has much impact on the success rate (over the months, I have been using Gmail, my company email, my private email). This leads me to believe that the problem is on the Cingular side.

Has anyone experienced a similar problem? Does anyone know a solution? Are they alternate ways (other than email) to send an MMS to a phone on the Internet?

If you were to call Cingular support and tell them that you will need to recieve MMS's from multiple Networks, they might confirm that it is not possible. Or else they may say that you could but in reality it is not so. Secondly due to the way an MMS gets transmitted, and if you are in transit, the message recieving will fail. There's a lot more to it.
