Default Nokia Brings New Intellisync Device Management

Nokia has just added some new device management solutions for its Intellisync Mobile Suite. This will bring more device support, tighter integration to improve user experience, remote control, improved theft-loss protection and hardware control.

The new device management features of Nokia Intellisync Mobile Suite includes remote control for easy troubleshooting of mobile devices The last feature is that of theft-loss protection, which will also be supported by S60 third Edition Nokia Eseries and Nseries through the Nokia Intellisync Mobile Suite client. This functionality uses the device built-in "lock" application and builds on it.
over-the-air. Users will have the ability to control hardware elements. This means that it will become much easier from now on to disable camera use or WLAN on handsets. Moreover, the theft-loss protection will also be improved.

"By adding the new capabilities into our current suite of products, we are responding to the market demand and accelerating the adoption of business mobility beyond mobile email", said Scott Cooper, senior vice president, Enterprise Solutions, Nokia. "We are seeing a strong interest from European and global operators and business customers for device management functions that mirror those of the IT environment", he further added.

From now on, controlling a mobile device will be possible even without actually holding it. Helpdesk users are able to access these devices, as if they are actually holding them, for troubleshooting, initial provisioning, upgrades and training purposes. That is one huge advantage meant to make things a lot easier when it comes to solving handset problems and providing software customization.

Another Intellisync device management feature allows Windows Mobile devices Administrators to disable or to enable several hardware elements on mobile devices. If the company policy does not allow camera use, for example, the user receives a pop-up screen notification that hardware functionality is disabled.
