French iPhone Service Plans Unearthed

With the release of the iPhone in France drawing even closer one would have expected Orange to come forth with the service plans for the device. While an official announcement has yet to be made, Apple fans have actually managed to dig up the information and post it online.

In another case of code snooping, FrenchiPhone managed to rummage around Orange’s official iPhone site until he found the information about the service plans. Although these sections of the site are as of yet unlinked and generally inaccessible to most users, the Interestingly enough, MacScoop mentions that the listed pricing is for those customers that sign a two-year contract and that those only opting for a one-year commitment the prices will be higher by 4,5€ per month.

49€/mo Plan:
- 2 hours + 2 (late evening or week-end) hours of voice calls:
- 50 SMS
- 10 hours of Orange Wifi
- Unlimited VoiceMail, E-Mail and data

59€/mo Plan:
- 3 hours + 3 (late evening or week-end) hours of voice calls:
- 100 SMS
- 10 hours of Orange Wifi
- Unlimited VoiceMail, E-Mail and EDGE data

79€/mo Plan:
- 5 hours + 5 (late evening or week-end) hours of voice calls:
- 150 SMS
- 10 hours of Orange Wifi
- Unlimited VoiceMail, E-Mail and EDGE data

119€/mo Plan:
- 8 hours + 8 hours of voice calls:
- 1000 SMS
- 100 hours of Orange Wifi
- Unlimited VoiceMail, E-Mail and EDGE data

While all the plans state that they include unlimited Voicemail E-mail and data, Orange warns that it might take measures against users who exceed 500MB of downloaded data, such as limiting them. The Wi-Fi offering is also rather meager, despite the company’s over 30 000 Wi-Fi hotspots all over the world.
