![]() The Nokia N72 is an updated version of the Nokia N70, but without the 3G functionality. Although available in a choice of black or pink, it's not really one for the girls, being typically SmartPhone-sized and weighing in at 124g. Slightly slimmer than the Nokia N70, and better looking too, it has a slightly improved keypad, and seems to have had more thought put into its physical design. The camera is a very good CMOS-based 2 megapixel camera with a zoom and flash, giving good results. Video capture is also very good, with a high resolution and good frame rate. The 262k colour TFT display is excellent too and does justice to the photography and multimedia aspects of the device. The music player is very good too, with excellent audio quality using the supplied stereo headset. Software is provided for easy transfer of music from PC to phone and the 128 Mbyte memory card is expandable, so there's plenty of storage available for music tracks. Visual Radio is also supported. In addition the N72 has a wide range of connectivity options. Support for Bluetooth 2.0 and USB 2.0 is included. A good web browser application is built into the phone, and there is full email support, including an attachment viewer for viewing MS Office documents. Functionally, the N72 is almost the same as the N70, but without 3G support. It's a nicer design in many ways, with an improved keypad (but still small). The user interface is faster too, so if you won't miss 3G, the N72 could be a better option. |
