![]() Phone rating: ![]() The Samsung E370 is a beautiful mid-range camera phone in Samsung's now-classic slider design. It's one of the smallest and lightest phones in its class and also one of the lightest slide phones available. The design is very practical, with the slider enabling a large screen and a good size keypad to be fitted into a small overall device. It looks great and is available in a choice of six colours, including pink for girly-girls and black for blokey-blokes. The E370 has a fantastic 1.3 megapixel camera which produces excellent results, and with an LED flash you can take pictures after dark - just don't expect the quality of a dedicated digital camera (it's a phone after all!) There's also a video camera which records in MPEG4 format. The display is average for its class. It's a TFT screen, but with just 65k colours and a relatively low resolution - this is probably its weakest feature when comparing with similarly priced phones. The music player is very good and supports MP3, AAC and AAC+ formats. Don't expect this to replace your iPod, because it's not in the same league, but it's good for listening to a few songs while waiting for the bus. With 40 Mbytes of memory available, you should be able to store about a dozen songs. There's no option to plug in a memory card unfortunately. Connectivity options are good - Bluetooth 2.0 and USB, and fast internet connections are possible via EDGE. A speakerphone is built into the phone, and there's also a voice memo recorder. Java games are supplied with the phone and can also be downloaded. Battery life is good. There's very little to dislike about the E370. It's Samsung's best mid-range phone and is proving to be very popular. |
