Error 721, PPTP VPN not connecting for some clients

I have two XP Pro laptops connecting to a 2003 SBS PPTP VPN wirelessly. One can connect, the other can't. It stops at "verifying username and password" with error 721 "the remote computer did not respond". Identical settings on the VPN connections, ports 1723 and protocol GRE are allowed on all firewalls. Client used to be able to connect, but hasn't for 2 weeks now. I have heard rumors that someone else on our network is having similar issues. Most recent Intel ProSet driver installed hasn't fixed it.

Any suggestions on where to go from here?

Peculiar - GRE pass through normally works or doesn't, dont often see it work for 30 seconds then stop if something is blocking it.

Might be worthwhile also installing Ethereal (they call it wireshark these days) to see if you can pickup when the traffic ceases to flow, its a good analyser.
