Chatting from Command Prompt

f you want a private chat with a friend or client on you Network, you don't need to download any fancy program!
All you need is your friends IP address and Command Prompt.

Firstly, open Notepad and enter:

@echo off
:A
Cls
echo MESSENGER
set /p n=User:
set /p m=Message:
net send %n% %m%
Pause
Goto A

Now save this as "Messenger.bat". Open the .bat file and in Command Prompt you should see:

MESSENGER
User:

After "User" type the IP address of the computer you want to contact.
After this, you should see this:

Message:

Now type in the message you wish to send.
Before you press "Enter" it should look like this:

MESSENGER
User: 56.108.104.107
Message: Hi

Now all you need to do is press "Enter", and start chatting!

I do not work this like for Windows xp

Sorry worm but it DOES work on Windows XP. Make sure you have no spaces in the bat file. Except those shown above EXACTLY. Make sure that when you save the file you save it as a .bat file. If you cant see the actual file extensions then make them visible by going to Control Panel/Folder Options. Then if the file is really O.K the true name will be messenger.bat. Double click, have fun. BTW, it does help to be online!

BTW tejus, cool little bat. To all the teeny boppers on board, when raul was a teeny bopper, he learnt his computing via DOS. Great times those. All the commands had to be memorized. Can still do most of it. You have no idea what you missed out on.
