I need to creat a demo of a corridor where using the cursor keys I can move foward, left and right. When I hit left (for example) ... I will be able to view a the left etc... Is there a simple way to do this? Is it very hard? I need to use my own images to create the walls of the corridor...Is there some software to do this? I need to know how to go around this. |

I've never worked with delphi my self... most engines out there will be C++/C#/Java/.Net.. if you want like an old school way of doing it though I don't know of an engine off the top of my head available... You can do it 2D, Basically you draw a flat graphic the looks 3d on the screen so you have wall picture for the right and left sides as well some that are further down in you view, an image for if it's an opening, and if there is a wall right in fron of you. This is basically how the old Wolfenstein and Doom games looked. It's not truely 3d. You might google for a while and see if you can find an engine that does that. This task will be as easy as the engine you pick and how simple you can make the project. But a weeks time is going to be rough from where you stand. You can potentially take a game out there like Doom, quake, Half life, Unreal, and make your own map and apply your own textures to it... That would remove the whole Coding side of it. but depending on what the demo is for that probably won't cut it. |
