Common Issues ..keys SIMULTANEOUSLY CLOSE ALL OPEN W*ndow$ 1. While pressing the [Ctrl] key, successively click each of the task icons on the taskbar. 2. Right-click the last task icon, and choose Close Group. When you select the Close Group command, W*ndow$ XP initiates a standard exit procedure for each open application. If any application has unsaved information in an open document, the application will prompt you to save the document before it closes. 1) start > shut down 2) select shut down from the menu 3) hold the shift key when pressing OK the operating system will restart WITHOUT restarting the computer To make the action of the "My Computer" icon explore rather than open. Open explorer. Click Tools/ Folder Options/ File Types. Scroll down to Folder. Click Advanced and change the default to "explore" (much more useful!) option. One-Click Shutdown 1.On the desktop, right-click and go to New, then to Shortcut (in other words, create a new shortcut). You should now see a pop-up window instructing you to enter a command line path. Enter one of these as the path: 2.Use this path if your operating system is W*ndow$ 95, 98, or Me: C:\W*ndow$\rundll.exe user.exe, exitwindows 3.Use this path if your operating system is XP: SHUTDOWN -s -t 01 4.If the C: drive is not your local hard drive, then replace "C" with the correct letter of the hard drive. 5.Click the "Next" button. 6.Name the shortcut and click the "Finish" button. Now whenever you want to shut down, just click on this shortcut and you're done. Also, if you want to make life better and faster, you can right-click the new shortcut you just made, go to Properties, and type in X (or whatever letter) in the Shortcut Key box. Hold down ALT and press Space. Hold down M and press Enter to move the open window. Use the keyboard cursor arrows: Up, Down, Right and/or Left to move the window towards the center of your screen, until its title bar shows up. Press Enter again when you're satisfied with your window's new position. Close that window. To be prepared for potential mouse failures, activate the Accessibility Options in Control Panel: When filling out a form on a webpage pressing the space bar will add checkmarks to check boxes and will enable radio buttons. If you hold the Shift key while scroll your mouse wheel in IE, this should take you to previous page or forward page depending on your scroll.
