PS3 boss, David Reeves, brags that Sony's saved their best for next month at the 2007 Games Convention in Leipzig, Germany. "There will be absolute fireworks at peak, that I can promise you. We will be doing things no-one has seen yet for both PS3 and PSP."
Reeves claims this year's E3 was a "phony war" of no show and little business, speaking to UK gaming site, MCV. He boasts Sony will let off the real fireworks, its biggest announcements, in Leipzig but didn't detail exactly what the announcements consist of.
Rumors are circulating throughout the web that Reeves hinted at a 120 GB drive when he mentioned that the jump from 60GB to 80GB isn't worth it for Europe. "If you go to double it, it's worth it", he added defending Sony's decision not to upgrade the Euro PS3 yet. "So maybe you'll see something a little bit later."
MCV speculates about other upgrades, predicting that Europe and other export markets will get on-demand-video services and Freeview TV, which is similar to free cable service in Europe.
Perhaps most importantly for both Euro Sony and its customers is the idea of price cut. Reeves admits the PS3 and PSP have been having a slow summer, and, as we can see in America, a price cut can really boost sales.
What Sony really has to learn is nothing sells a console like a good ol' fashion library of games, or having Halo on your side.
