Sales for Sony Corp.'s Playstation 3 were stable in the latest weekly hardware tally in Japan.Media Create Co. on Fri. reported that the PS3 sold 12,187 units between July 16 and July 22, a slight decrease from 13,493 units the week prior.
The console ranked one software title in the top 50 software sales, a summer vacation simulator at No. 50.
Sony has sold 1 million PS3 units to date in Japan and 4.3 million worldwide.
This month, the company's game division posted a mounting loss that was recouped by strong electronics sales.
Next month, it will introduce a new 80GB SKU to the U.S. market for $599.
Sony maintained its shipment target of 11 million PS3 units by Mar. 2008.
