Take-Two Interactive this week said that it will delay Grand Theft Auto IV to 2008. The anticipated sequel was scheduled to be released to PS3 in Oct. Sony this week delayed the flight action title Lair to Sept. The game was originally slated for an Aug. release. Sony's New Zealand game division this week said that the company may add a digital tuner to the PS3 to allow the product to become a digital video recorder. PS3 models include a hard drive in each unit sold. Sony this week began offering new products at the Playstation Store, including the Blast Factor Advanced Research Add-On and Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 demo. Retailers, including Best Buy and Toys R Us began offering pre-orders for the 80GB PS3 SKU. The new model retails for $599. An advanced Circuit City circular this week revealed that Microsoft Corp. will price cut all Xbox 360 models. Price cuts range from $20 to $50 across the Core, Premium and Elite models. Microsoft's Xbox 360 HD DVD Player sold out this week at Best Buy when the online division discounted the product to $149. The HD DVD peripheral was recently price cut to $179. Xbox 360 Elite sales increased 21 percent this week at auction site Ebay. The product ranked as the No. 3 item that held the largest sales increase in a two-week period. Xbox 360 sales increased this week in Japan. Additionally, the console was able to rank one title in the top ten game sales in the period. Xbox 360 sales decreased this week in the latest sales data from Ebay. The console held a minor percentage drop in sales but remained the No. 2 Most Popular video game hardware at the site. Bungie this week announced that the upcoming action sequel Halo 3 will include co-op multiplayer functionality for up to four players. Halo 3 will be released in the U.S. on Sept. 25. Data firm Hitwise this week said that Xbox 360 surpassed Wii as the most searched console in July. Wii has previously held the No. 1 rank in console searches upon debut in Nov. Sales for Nintendo Co.'s Wii dipped in the latest retail sales data from Japan. Despite the drop, the hardware held the No. 2 best-selling video game hardware rank for the week. 2K Sports and Konami Inc. this week announced that it will pitch MLB Power Pros to the Wii and PS2 this fall. The title is based on the best-selling Power Pro baseball series in Japan. Nintendo this week kicked Mario Strikers Charged for Wii to U.S. retail. The new soccer offering includes motion-based controls and online play. Super Star Soldier this week led new game offerings for the Wii Virtual Console. Additional titles included Dynamite Heady and Drop Off. Wii lead over PS3 and Xbox 360 this week in the latest sales data from Amazon.com. Wii ranked as the top-selling console, followed by the PS3 and the Xbox 360 Elite. Amazon.com this week discounted World Championship Poker: All In for Wii to $22.
